Helleborus Orientalis. Commonly known as Winter Rose. A shade-loving perennial producing rose-like flowers in a range of colours in Winter and early Spring. I find it a challenge to paint anything white, just as well I love challenges. Also, I love to put insects somewhere in my paintings as I think this adds a little more interest.
